Beauty of Biodiversity The Earth Gardens of South America The Earth Gardens is a place where life is simple and relaxed; kids plant the seeds of a new society! Kids of the third world show the beauty of their continent's gardens through the use of an environmental project. The forests, meadows, lakes, and other favorite nature places from Africa, Asia, South America, the Pacific Islands, or wherever they live are depicted in web pages created by kids. The Amazon Garden Princesses from Bolivia want you to celebrate the breathtaking beauty of biodiversity in their garden. The Amazon Rainforest The picture shows kids from a small rural village as they experience a PC for the first time. A kind-hearted engineer donated the computer, loaded with useful programs. It was donated to the Sembradores when the engineer bought a new one from USA. The Sembradores (from "sembrar", to sow or seed, meaning sowers or planters) was established in 1992 by a local group of schoolgirls devoted to beautifying their town. But despite praise from as high as the president of Bolivia, their efforts were in vain, as there was no real interest by the local authorities to help, and the areas they cleaned soon returned to unsightly garbage dumps. The girls became interested in the wider implications of a culture which can sustain beauty and what it would take to develop a society that cares about nature. They are interested in recruiting visiting tourists to help them. Growing Interest One hundred thirty-three schools have expressed their wish to participate in the environmental teams in Bolivia. As more volunteers and funds become available, the program will be expanded to all the schools in Bolivia. Anyone can volunteer to help preserve Bolivias precious rainforest by working with school and university students, or at the court of the princess. Response to this project gives worth to the children and pride to the individual who is helping to save the rainforest. All the princesses are ordinary rural children who delight in getting a sponsor. epic'Jegkx | yrynjnjdj^Xjn(X ')JMgikoaoJJD5D<p@ ' !!
